Job Summary/Basic Function
Full‑time, non‑faculty position. Functions include coordination with the Simulation Coordinator, IT, Nursing, EMT/Paramedic faculty and staff to manage laboratory supplies, equipment, technology, inventory and resources to deliver training scenarios for students and faculty in the Allied Health Division. Additional responsibilities include assisting simulation schedule planning and participating in simulation scenarios under direction of the Simulation Coordinator.
Job Duties
- Collaborate with the Allied Health Simulation and Clinical Coordinator, EMT/Paramedic Program Director, and faculty to ensure preparation of lab supplies and equipment based on faculty requests and course schedule.
- Set up and break down scenario environment (obtaining and returning scenario props when needed).
- Operate audio‑visual and simulation equipment.
- Follow medical aspects of scenarios and make appropriate adjustments based on participant actions.
- Under direction of the Allied Health Simulation and Clinical Coordinator, Dean, and/or EMT/Paramedic program director, create laboratory packets (including medications, IV fluids, etc.) for laboratory and simulation scenarios.
- Play standardized patient or patient voice when needed.
- Collaborate with the Allied Health Simulation and Clinical Coordinator on work assignments, and ordering and maintaining inventory of all lab supplies.
- Perform laboratory housekeeping duties.
- Work flexible schedule (early mornings, late evenings, or weekends may be required).
- Any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in an allied health field, associate’s in computer science or related field, or two years’ work experience in a health care, IT or related field.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to troubleshoot multiple software and network hardware systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- General knowledge related to electronics, cabling and computers.
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and build relationships.
- Ability to learn new equipment and update skills to adapt to changing technology.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to think logically and follow directions.
- Innovative approaches to problem solving.
- Ability to adapt to changes in role and schedule to best meet the needs of students, faculty, organization and community.

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in an allied health field, associate’s in computer science or related field.
- Experience with Laerdal and other simulation equipment.
- Experience with electronic health documentation in a simulated environment.
- Experience with delivery of simulation scenarios.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The employee is exposed to weather conditions, noise can be moderate to loud in equipment areas. Duties include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle objects, reaching with arms, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, talking or hearing, tasting or smelling. Occasional lifting and moving up to 50–100 pounds. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel Requirement
Required to travel to the Iron Mountain Campus throughout the semesters.
