Job summary
Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba seeks a Simulation/Lab Technician to support Allied Health simulation labs. You will coordinate with faculty, prepare supplies, set up and operate simulation equipment, and manage inventory for training scenarios.
The role requires an associate degree or equivalent experience, AHA BLS certification, and strong technical and interpersonal skills. Travel to the Iron Mountain campus may be required; benefits include health, retirement, and professional

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Allied Health Simulation and Clinical Coordinator, EMT/Paramedic Program Director, and faculty to prepare lab supplies and equipment per requests.
- Set up and break down scenario environments and manage scenario props.
- Operate audio-visual and simulation equipment.
- Adjust to medical aspects of scenarios based on participant actions.
- Create laboratory packets for simulations under supervision.
- Play standardized patient or patient voice when needed.
- Maintain inventory of all lab supplies and coordinate with the team.
- Perform laboratory housekeeping duties.
- Support flexible work hours including early mornings, late evenings, or weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Full-time/Part-time: Full-Time Position Type Staff
This position is for a full-time, non-faculty position. Functions include coordination with Simulation Coordinator, IT, Nursing, EMT/Paramedic faculty and staff to manage laboratory (lab) supplies, equipment, technology, inventory and other resources in order to deliver a variety of training and scenarios for the benefit of students and faculty in the Allied Health Division. Additional functions include assisting the Allied Health Division simulation schedule to be arranged to meet student and faculty needs. Additionally, to participate in simulation scenarios at the direction of the Simulation Coordinator and in conjunction with the faculty.
- Associates degree in an allied health field, associate in computer science or related field or two years’ work experience in a health care, IT or related field.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to troubleshoot multiple software and network hardware systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- General knowledge related to electronics, cabling and computers.
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and build relationships.
- Ability to learn new equipment and update skills to adapt to changing technology.

Months Per Year: 12 Hours Worked Per Week: 40 Work Schedule: Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break.
Reports to the Allied Health Simulation and Clinical Coordinator.

- Under the direction of the Allied Health Simulation and Clinical Coordinator, Dean, and/or EMT/Paramedic program director, create laboratory packets (including medications, IV fluids, medications etc.) for laboratory and simulation scenarios.
- Play standardized patient or patient voice when needed.
- Collaborates with Allied Health Simulation and Clinical Coordinator on work assignments, and ordering and maintaining inventory of all lab supplies.
- Perform laboratory housekeeping duties.
- Ability to work flexible schedule (early mornings, late evenings, or weekends may be required).
- Any other duties as assigned.
