Job summary

Collin College seeks a part-time Simulation Lab Assistant to support the operation of the Simulation Lab, prepare equipment, and assist with simulation-based teaching. You will handle manikins, AV equipment, and related systems to ensure effective student evaluation during simulated experiences.

The role includes maintaining safety, assisting with equipment troubleshooting, and supporting ongoing research and new simulation technologies.

Qualifications

Associate degree in related field from an accredited institution required.
Minimum of two (2) years related health care work experience in simulation technology/education, general education or information technology required.
Preferred Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Teaching experience at community college level desired, preferably in health care education.
Current Texas license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
ACLS and/or Pediatric advanced Life Support (PALS) provider certification preferred.
This position is generally limited to working a maximum of 19.5 hours per week.
Equivalency Language: An additional two (2) years of health care work experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
This position is Security Sensitive, therefore, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Assist in the instruction of healthcare-related education with simulated experiences.
Prepare manikins, equipment, and supplies for upcoming simulations.
Monitor day-to-day activities in the Simulation Center and maintain safety.
Ensure SE evaluation forms are completed by students or faculty.
Maintain confidentiality of personnel information and secure labs/offices.
Assist with maintenance of SynDaver manikins and equipment.
Assist with maintaining oxygen reserves and compressed gas systems.
Assist with research, data collection, and new simulation systems.
