Job summary

Collin College is seeking a part-time IT specialist to provide technical support for software, hardware, peripherals, and AV equipment across campus events and classrooms.

The role requires an Associate degree and 3 years of related experience. Expect to assist students, faculty and staff, diagnose issues, image computers, and maintain equipment inventories. Candidates must be able to work on multiple Collin College campuses and adhere to security policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of audio-visual equipment including control systems and conferencing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software and AV issues.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to document issues clearly and follow up in ticketing systems.
• Ability to work with faculty, staff and students in person across campuses.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for software, hardware, peripherals and AV equipment.
• Assist users with computer, Internet, wireless access, and media issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and AV problems.
• Set up and operate AV equipment for conferences and events.
• Install, image and maintain equipment in assigned areas.
• Document tickets and maintain inventory records.
• Coordinate with Security for threat remediation and compliance.
