Job summary

Collin College is seeking a part-time VR technician to support nursing simulation and clinical education by managing and maintaining VR-based training systems in McKinney, TX. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum six months related experience.
• Preferred Associate degree in IT, Instructional Technology, Healthcare Simulation, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and maintain VR headsets, controllers, sensors, and related hardware.
• Install, update, and troubleshoot VR software platforms and simulation content.
• Assist faculty in designing, building, or customizing VR simulation scenarios aligned with nursing curriculum objectives.
• Provide technical support to students and instructors during VR-based labs and assessments.
• Monitor equipment performance, perform routine maintenance, and coordinate repairs or vendor support as needed.
• Manage inventory of VR devices, accessories, and licenses.
• Train faculty and staff on VR system use and best practices.
• Ensure VR stations meet safety, sanitation, and accessibility standards.
• Collect usage data and assist with evaluating the effectiveness of VR training tools.
• Maintain documentation for equipment, software licenses, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Stay current on emerging VR/AR technologies relevant to healthcare education.
• Manage and maintain scheduling of student assignments and appointments.
