The University of Maryland, Baltimore's Physician Assistant Program in the School of Graduate Studies has an opportunity for a Simulation Events Coordinator (Events Coordinator). The Simulation Events Coordinator will provide operational, technical, and administrative support for simulation-based education events within the Physician Assistant Program and School of Pharmacy. Working under the direction of the simulation educator, this position assists with the daily coordination of events for simulation laboratory operations, clinical skills rooms, and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) spaces by preparing learning environments, coordinating room and equipment set-up and breakdown, maintaining simulation resources, and supporting faculty, staff, standardized patients, and learners.

The Simulation Coordinator helps ensure simulation events and activities are conducted efficiently by providing logistical support, maintaining accurate records, troubleshooting routine operational issues, assisting with event coordination, and contributing to a safe, organized, and professional learning environment.

Primary Duties
  • Provide professional and administrative support to department, campus center, or school events.
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day operations of events or meetings for simulation laboratories, clinical skills rooms, and OSCE spaces for the PA Program and School of Pharmacy program. May be responsible for facility logistic aspects of simulations, including set-up and tear down, seating arrangements, technical, and atmosphere.
  • Coordinate strategic planning and assist in goal setting for simulation laboratories. Assist in creation of novel approaches to building business such as special events, services or incentives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of concepts and processes.
  • Generate proposals and other documents to secure business for all services related to assigned events for simulation laboratories, clinical skills rooms, such as facility, and or equipment. Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with some latitude.
  • Provides general professional and administrative duties to support events and troubleshooting issues that arise throughout the event.
  • Assess outcomes and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Maintain database or other records of students, faculty or staff for assigned events.
  • Assist in preparation of promotional and informational items.
  • May supervise staff and/or volunteers and ensure the efficient recruitment/ interview and training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications) or related field.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience in event or meeting management, fundraising or development, public, or client relations. Experience in simulation, laboratory operations, or healthcare education support is preferred.

Other: Related experience may be substituted for education.

Clery act designated job as campus security authorities (CSA) member and will comply with Clery Act requirements.

Hiring Range: $53,500 - $57,000, commensurate with education and experience.
