Agility Robotics is seeking an engineering leader to build and head a new Simulation team that will own the software foundation for rapid robot development and validation.

The role sits at the intersection of physics simulation, hardware abstraction, and robot learning, collaborating with AI, Controls, Perception Sensors, Hardware Interfaces, QA, and Systems Integration to accelerate development and provide actionable insights.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technical leadership; hiring experience.
• Proven robotics and simulation background.
• Hands-on with C++/Python and robotics frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a new Simulation team from the ground up, defining scope and culture.
• Architect and own the hardware abstraction layer linking sensors, actuators, and hardware to simulations.
• Develop and integrate physics simulators with open-source frameworks focusing on fidelity, performance, and sim-to-real transfer.
• Collaborate with AI, Controls, Perception Sensors, Hardware Interfaces, QA, and Systems Integration teams to support robot development.
• Define success metrics for simulation, tooling, workflows, coverage, and ongoing delivery.
• Develop engineers through clear expectations, growth opportunities, and a strong team culture.
