Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Robotics Simulation Engineer to design and optimize high-fidelity robot simulations in a remote, Seattle-area context. You will build robot models, create/train validation pipelines, and tune physics parameters to improve sim-to-real transfer.

Proficiency in Python and/or C++ and experience with major simulators are required. The role offers freelance autonomy with flexible hours and opportunities for ongoing contract work on challenging, research-grade problems in robotics

Qualifications

• Experience with major robotics simulators (MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, Gazebo).
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++ in robotics/scientific computing.
• Understanding of rigid-body dynamics and contact mechanics.
• Experience creating/validating robot models (URDF/MJCF/SDF).
• Familiarity with ROS2 integration with simulation environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-fidelity robot models with accurate kinematics and dynamics.
• Build and maintain simulation environments using MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, and Gazebo.
• Develop end-to-end simulation pipelines for training, testing and validation.
• Tune simulation parameters for better sim-to-real transfer.
• Integrate simulations with ROS2 for perception, planning, and control.
