Job summary

Lunar Outpost invites a Simulation Engineering Intern to help develop and enhance simulation models for robotic systems. This in-person internship is based in Golden, Colorado, running early June 2027 through late August 2027 with flexible start/end dates to fit school schedules.

You will work alongside full-time engineers on real projects, gaining end-to-end experience from conceptual modeling to results analysis and insights for product improvements.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
• Experience with robotics simulation tools and software, including ROS2 and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience in control theory and state estimation.
• Experience with programming languages such as C++, C#, or Python.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work methodically in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Can effectively demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills, while also excelling in collaboration and teamwork in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Exhibits strong organizational and time management skills under pressure and in stressful situations.
• Fueled by a passion for space exploration and the boundless possibilities beyond our world.

Job description

As a Simulation Engineering Intern at Lunar Outpost, you will play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of simulation models used to test our robotic systems under various scenarios. This internship will provide you with a comprehensive view of the simulation process in robotic systems development, from conceptual modeling to the detailed analysis of results. Early-June (June 7, 2027) to late August (August 20, 2027). Start and end dates are flexible with the intern's school schedule. This is an in-person internship; Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Golden, Colorado.
