Description

The Simulation Consultant is responsible for validating and optimizing automated warehousing solutions using pre-developed simulation models. As part of the Solutions Design team, this role evaluates proposed system designs by conducting simulation experiments, performing sensitivity analyses, and testing various operational scenarios. The Simulation Consultant uses data-driven insights to assess system performance against throughput and service-level targets, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and minimize equipment requirements to improve competitiveness and the ROI of the design.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute simulation experiments using established TGW simulation models.
  • Validate proposed solution designs against performance and operational requirements.
  • Perform sensitivity analyses to evaluate system performance under varying demand profiles and operational scenarios.
  • Identify bottlenecks, operational risks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Evaluate alternative strategies to improve system efficiency and performance.
  • Challenge design assumptions and provide recommendations to reduce cost, improve competitiveness and the ROI of the design.
  • Analyze simulation outputs and translate results into clear business and technical recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with Solutions Designers throughout the design and validation process.
  • Support customer presentations by effectively communicating simulation results and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of simulation methodologies, best practices, and design standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in warehouse operations, warehouse automation, supply chain engineering, or solutions design.

Travel:

20% of travel as required.

  • Thorough knowledge of warehouse automation systems
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
  • Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
