Grand Valley State University is seeking an Assistant Technology Specialist Manager to support digital audiovisual systems for recording simulated sessions in the Simulation Center. You will assist with setup, troubleshooting, and maintaining multimedia equipment and materials for learning activities.

The role involves recording and editing video content, delivering workshops for faculty, and ensuring data security of recorded material, with flexible hours around event schedules.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required.
• Outstanding communication, organizational, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Information Technology (IT) systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn new software.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands and navigate challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist multimedia technology support for faculty, staff, and students during simulation events.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and simulation equipment failures.
• Support setup, reset, and storage of simulation systems and provide technical support.
• Prepare and maintain equipment, media, computers, and materials for simulation learning.
• Support digital media use, web streaming, content distribution, data backup, and troubleshooting.
• Record and edit videos for faculty.
• Help conduct workshops and training sessions on simulation multimedia technology and video capture.
• Maintain inventory of multimedia supplies and equipment and keep the inventory system up to date.
• Ensure data confidentiality and security of recorded simulation content.
• Contribute to policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with the Simulation Center’s mission.
• Seek professional development opportunities.
• Support simulation team during simulated educational scenarios including patient simulator upkeep, programming, and operation.
