Job summary

Grand Valley State University is seeking an Associate to support multimedia technology for simulation events. You will troubleshoot hardware/software, set up and maintain equipment, and assist with media production for faculty and students.

The role includes workshops, inventory management, and ensuring data security. Applicants should have an Associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred), excellent communication, and flexibility to work events.

Qualifications

• Outstanding communication, organizational, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills; team player.
• Experience with Information Technology (IT) systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new software.
• Flexibility in schedule due to Simulation Center event times; ability to navigate challenging workplace situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing multimedia technology support for faculty, staff, and students during simulation events.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and simulation equipment failures.
• Support setup, resetting, storage, and technical support for simulation systems.
• Prepare and maintain equipment, media, computers, and materials for simulation learning.
• Support digital media use, web stream creation, content distribution, data backup, and troubleshooting.
• Record and edit videos for faculty.
• Assist in workshops and training sessions for faculty and staff on simulation multimedia technology and video capture.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of multimedia supplies and equipment.
• Ensure data confidentiality and security of recorded simulation content.
