Job Summary

This position exists to coordinate student compliance activities while providing simulation, instructional, and educational technology support for the College of Nursing and Health Professions (CNHP). The position also coordinates and delivers American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) instruction, maintains student compliance records, supports simulation operations, and provides technology assistance for instructional and administrative functions. This position reports to the Director of Information & Simulation Technology and collaborates with faculty, staff, students, and external partners to support the college's educational mission.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage nursing student compliance activities, including fingerprinting, background checks, and drug screenings by scheduling appointments, monitoring completion, maintaining confidential records, resolving compliance issues, and ensuring all requirements are satisfied prior to clinical placement.
  • Serve as the College's American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Program Coordinator by planning, scheduling, coordinating, and instructing BLS courses; maintaining instructor and student certification records; managing course registration and logistics; tracking certification renewals; ordering training materials; submitting required documentation; and ensuring compliance with AHA Training Center standards.
  • Provide operational and technical support for the Simulation Center, including setup, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, inventory management, and coordination of vendor repairs for simulation equipment, audiovisual systems, task trainers, and high-fidelity manikins.
  • Provide technical support for instructional and administrative technology by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computers, printers, software applications, classroom technology, and other technology resources within the College of Nursing and Health Professions.
  • Serve as a technology resource for faculty, staff, and students by providing technical assistance, training, and guidance to promote the effective use of instructional technology, simulation resources, and related systems.
  • Maintain departmental records, documentation, and compliance tracking systems while ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of student, certification, and departmental information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental operations, educational activities, accreditation efforts, and the mission of the College of Nursing and Health Professions.
Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in technology or related field. Experience in a healthcare, educational, technology, or compliance-related environment. AHA-BLS instructor certification or ability to obtain and maintain. Current Notary Public commission or ability to obtain commission upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and software for faculty offices, labs, and instructional spaces.
  • Maintain service records, track support requests, and recommend hardware and software needs to administration.
  • Manage student records and files with strict confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation and file management systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in office productivity software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and other applications.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, time management, communication, and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and administer an American Heart Association training program.
  • Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Ability to maintain regulatory compliance and certification documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple training events and instructors.
  • Ability to evaluate learner competency using nationally recognized standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of current AHA BLS guidelines, certification requirements, and instructional standards.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in technology or related field. Simulation experience and CHSOS certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
