Job Summary

This part-time adjunct faculty position requires teaching in-person undergraduate courses in the Athletic Training degree program on an as needed basis.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Face-to-face and/or online course delivery and instruction.
  • Prepare and submit syllabi, grades and other required course documentation in a timely manner.
  • Communicate course requirements and expectations to students.
  • Communicate with other program and school-level faculty.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or higher in Athletic Training or a related field
  • Mississippi state license or eligible
  • Ability to teach effectively, according to University standards, in the undergraduate and graduate Athletic Training programs
  • Criminal history and background check clearance
  • Uphold the mission and values of USM, College of Nursing and Health Professions, and the School of Health Professions
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
  • Specialized knowledge in the field of Athletic Training as demonstrated by national certification.
  • Candidates should have the ability to deliver accurate, concise and quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner.
  • Candidates should have the ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams.
  • Candidates should have the ability to navigate and use learning management systems for teaching, such as Canvas, as well as other technological communications (Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching, mentoring, and/or service experience at the university level.
  • Professional experience in Athletic Training.
  • Experience with USM's Learning Management System, Canvas.
