Job summary

Intel's Quantum Computing Group seeks a Quantum Design Engineer to scale qubit processors from conception through tapeout. You will work with cross‑functional teams across lithography, PDK, design tooling, and software to implement qubit processes and automated routing for large-scale quantum devices.

The role emphasizes collaboration, experimental insight, and hands‑on development in a fast‑paced, innovative environment at Intel's silicon‑based quantum program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, Master's with 3 years, or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Cryogenic Engineering, Quantum Technologies, or related field.
• 1+ years experience with EM modeling and simulation tools for signal integrity/crosstalk analysis.
• Experience with design automation flow implementation and tooling such as SKILL, VSR, MSOA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish qubit processes and design rules with lithography, process integration, measurement, and PDK engineers.
• Architect qubit and readout element standard cells and automation.
• Collaborate with TCAD and PDK engineers to create qubit process files and extraction capability.
• Partner with quantum software and control teams to evaluate tradeoffs in quantum error correction vs qubit topology.
• Develop design automation and routing for large-scale quantum processors.
• Perform industry standard validations such as DRC, LVS, and Extraction prior to tape‑in signoff.
