Job summary

The RE-1 Valley School District seeks a dedicated SSN Paraeducator to support students with significant needs in a structured classroom. You will assist with instructional activities, behavior support, personal care, and life skills under licensed staff supervision.

This full-time role on a 165-day calendar provides benefits, a 4-day week (Tue-Fri), and close collaboration with teachers, aides, and related service providers to promote safety, independence, and progress toward IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Pass WorkKeys assessment or hold an Associate's Degree or higher.
• Experience with children or youth in educational settings.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Follow individual IEPs, safety plans, and District procedures.
• Willingness to provide behavioral, instructional, and personal-care support.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small-group support based on student needs.
• Assist with instructional, behavioral, and physical student support.
• Foster self-regulation, social-emotional, and life skills development.
• Reinforce routines, expectations, and positive behavior.
• Support inclusion in general education and school activities.
• Supervise sensory, movement, and regulation breaks as needed.
• Maintain student dignity, independence, and safety.
