Job summary

Canadian Pacific Railway seeks a Manager Signals and Communications Operations to lead a team ensuring reliable S&C systems, oversee Radio Shop personnel, and coordinate yard control networks for efficient train movement. You will conduct electrical and mechanical testing, inspect new installations, and prepare data for affidavits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of railroad experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Associates of Applied Science in Electronics and/or BS in Electrical Engineering is a bonus.
• Proven track record in planning, prioritizing and executing in a safe environment.
• Proficient knowledge of S&C equipment, signal principles, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Good computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP).
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to support on-call operations (24x7 availability).

Responsibilities

• Directs safety leadership and cultivates continuous improvement in workplace safety.
• Analyzes reported wrong side signal failures to prevent recurrence.
• Ensures S&C systems meet safety standards.
• approves entry into service of new/modified S&C systems (e.g. crossings).
• Maintains records of S&C equipment, installations and testing/revisions.
• Coordinates activities with maintenance and construction teams to maximize productivity.
• Coaches junior S&C employees on technical aspects.
• Distributes S&C Alerts and updates with field actions.
• Uses the collective bargaining agreement for work management.
