Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Engineer, Signaling and Train Control for on-site roles in Sacramento, Fresno, or Bakersfield, CA. You will provide engineering leadership for railway signaling and train control systems on a major transportation project, including ETCS Level 2, interlockings, and related systems.

The position involves design reviews, testing, commissioning, safety submissions, and regulatory coordination, with approximately 25–50% travel along the Central Valley alignment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS required; 6+ years relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience taking signaling systems from design through testing and final acceptance.
• Experience delivering on large transportation infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and approve signaling engineering deliverables across design, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Ensure documentation meets program requirements and standards.
• Review designs for compliance with specifications and operations.
• Coordinate interfaces between signaling, telecom, rolling stock, track, and power.
