Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager, Communications, for an on-site role in Sacramento, CA. You will oversee the delivery of operational telecommunications systems on a major transportation project, from design through testing and handover.

Responsibilities include managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk, coordinating with signaling, SCADA, stations and maintenance teams, and ensuring regulatory approvals and FCC licensing. Travel will be 25–50% along the Central Valley alignment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS with 8+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's in Electrical/Telecommunications/Systems Engineering or related field
• Experience managing communications systems from design to acceptance
• Experience leading multidisciplinary delivery teams
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience on high-speed rail or large transportation programs
• Familiarity with FCC licensing and US regulations

Responsibilities

• Oversee communications systems from design through handover
• Coordinate with signaling, traction power, SCADA, stations and maintenance
• Lead integration of fiber optic backbone networks and IP/MPLS
• Manage regulatory approvals and licensing activities
• Develop and execute test plans and integrated testing
• Support reporting, forecasting, and handover activities
