Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Signage Installation Manager in Portland, ME to oversee installation crews, scheduling, and logistics for complex commercial installations. This hands-on leader will guide safety, quality control, and team development across multiple projects, ensuring timely execution and high standards of workmanship.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial signage installation, large-format graphics, vinyl application, environmental graphics, experiential installations, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience managing installation crews, scheduling work, training employees, and holding team members accountable.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of vinyl application, signage installation, mounting methods, hardware, lifts, access requirements, and jobsite planning.
• Proven ability to manage multiple crews and projects while balancing changing priorities and staffing needs.
• Experience conducting site surveys, field measurements, access reviews, and interpreting installation drawings, plans, and project information.
• Strong understanding of installation logistics, including crew assignments, vehicles, equipment, materials, tools, loading, transportation, and jobsite readiness.
• Ability to establish and maintain installation standards, checklists, quality-control procedures, and safety practices.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, develop, and hold installation team members accountable.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with ability to collaborate with Project Management, Production, Fabrication, Purchasing, Design, and other internal teams.
• Experience with complex commercial signage, environmental branding, large-format graphics, or high-visibility installations is highly preferred.
• Avery, 3M, or similar graphics installation certification is a plus.
• OSHA 10 certification and lift/operator certifications are preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain/maintain required medical or DOT qualifications as applicable.
• Willingness to travel for select projects and work occasional nights or weekends based on project requirements.
• Ability to work comfortably at elevation and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation crews, scheduling, project readiness, logistics, equipment, quality control, safety, and team development.
• Provide hands-on field leadership when needed while focusing on performance and development of the installation team.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Production, Fabrication, Purchasing, Design, and other internal teams to ensure project success.
• Adapt to changing priorities and staffing needs to keep multiple projects moving smoothly.
