Job summary

Rosecrance Health Network is seeking a dedicated Peer Recovery Specialist to deliver outpatient behavioral health services in Rockford, IL. You will support clients and families, bridge treatment transitions, and contribute to recovery-oriented planning in a compassionate, compliant setting.

Starting pay is based on education and credentials, with shifts on the 3rd shift. The role emphasizes peer education, group facilitation, and collaboration with the treatment team within Rosecrance’s mission

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with participation in Peer Recovery Training Program.
• Must qualify as RSA under Illinois DMH Rule 132.
• CRSS certification or in progress within 18 months (FT) or 3 years (PT).
• Demonstrated deep understanding of emotional, psychological, and practical aspects of navigating mental health and wellness.
• Ability to coordinate and present lectures for clients, parents, and community resources.
• Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to prescribed work hours and any additional hours deemed necessary.
• Navigate and assist individuals transitioning between treatment programs and levels of care.
• Actively participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of treatment solutions.
• Provide behavioral interventions and advocacy for individuals with behavioral health disorders.
• Provide peer education regarding behavioral health treatment.
• Facilitate peer-led groups.
• Observe and support outpatient group programming.
• Facilitate focal group discussion sessions.
• Serve as a member of the treatment team and participate in team meetings and activities.
• Understand and comply with Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
• Perform all responsibilities in line with Rosecrance mission, values and expectations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to every customer.
• Serve as a role model for staff, clients and customers.
• Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
