The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) seeks Sign Language Support Staff to provide communication access for participants in after-school programs, summer camps, and recreation classes across county community centers. The role supports instructors, promotes engagement, and helps create an inclusive environment for children, youth, and adults.

Ideal candidates have recreation or childcare experience and ASL proficiency.

Formación

• Fluent expressive and receptive skills in American Sign Language.
• Ability to present information with accuracy, clarity, and appropriate vocabulary.
• Ability to work with diverse age groups and abilities.
• Dependable, flexible, and able to work in a variety of recreation-based environments.

Responsabilidades

• Provide sign language support for individuals and groups in recreational, educational, and social settings
• Facilitate communication between participants, staff, and instructors
• Adapt communication style to meet the practical, social, and programmatic needs of participants
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all settings
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure smooth, inclusive program delivery
