Job summary

Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is seeking Inclusion Support Staff to assist participants with disabilities in recreation, childcare, classes, and special events across multiple Prince George’s County locations. Work hours vary by assignment and many opportunities are offered in Northern, Countywide, and Southern areas.

Ideal candidates have experience in recreation, childcare, or education and can adapt activities to support inclusive participation.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with supervisors, staff, participants, and parents/guardians.
• Willingness to actively participate in all program activities, assist with the adaptation of activities, and help facilitate social interaction between participants
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide professional, respectful, and inclusive customer service to participants with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support participants with disabilities in accessing and actively participating in recreation programs, childcare, classes, and special events.
• Adapt activities, provide individualized support, and encourage social interaction and engagement with peers.
• Communicate with program staff, supervisors, participants, and families while documenting and addressing participant needs as appropriate.
