Job summary

The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is seeking a year-round Sign Language Interpreter to support inclusive recreation experiences for Deaf or hard of hearing individuals. Interpreters convey instruction and intent during programs, meetings, trainings, and more in various settings around recreation activities.

Responsibilities include providing ASL services, facilitating communication between participants and staff, and driving to program sites as needed.

Qualifications

• ASL and English fluency required.
• Excellent communication and interpretation skills.
• Professional conduct and confidentiality adherence.

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL interpretation during recreation programs, meetings, trainings and events.
• Assist Deaf and hard-of-hearing participants and staff by relaying information accurately.
• Maintain licensure and adhere to NAD/RID code of professional conduct.
