Job summary

Sorenson Communications, LLC is seeking a part-time Sign Language Interpreter for Video Relay Service (VRS) in the Portland, Oregon area. The role requires interpreting between ASL and spoken English, with shifts Monday–Saturday 7am–7pm MT and at least 10 hours of interpreting per month as directed.

Salary ranges from $25 to $60 per hour, with premium shifts, CEU credits, licensure reimbursement, 401K, and opportunities to transfer to centers across the US.

Qualifications

• Diploma or better in High School or related field.
• 3 years of interpreting experience (preferred).
• Interpreter certification as required by local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English.
• Maintain compliance with licensure and certification requirements.
• Comply with Sorenson standards, FCC regulations, and RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Complete tasks promptly and within guidelines; support a team environment.
• Adapt to a fast-paced, regulated setting and evolving technologies.
