Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in educational interpreting or related field.
• Educational Interpreter Proficiency Assessment score of 3.3 required.
• Ability to interpret/transliterate in classroom settings for deaf or hard of hearing students.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to laws, policies, and procedures.
• Facilitate communication between student and peers/adults.
• Study lesson content to ensure accurate interpretation.
• Tutor deaf or hard of hearing students under teacher guidance.
• Provide feedback to teachers on student progress.
• Promote positive relationships within the school environment.
• Teach basic sign language as needed.
• Participate in professional development.
