Job summary

Purple Communications, Inc is seeking a Full-time Sign Language Interpreter to provide high-quality interpretation via video relay, remote interpreting, and on-site at various locations. The role requires fluent ASL and spoken English, adherence to NAD-RID standards, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Fluent ASL and spoken English language skills.
• Able to provide accurate interpretation.
• Good understanding of Deaf culture.
• Thorough knowledge of and adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Three to five years of experience in interpreting (preferred but not required)
• State licensure or state-required credentials as applicable.
• Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective video relay service, video remote interpreting, and onsite interpreting for consumers.
• Support and model the company's mission and values.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a respectful and professional attitude with customers and colleagues.
• Exhibit punctuality and preparedness for shifts, and maintain timely and accurate records.
• Adhere to all policies and FCC regulations.
• Demonstrate ability to adapt to new technologies and multitask between interpreting duties and video-based tools.
• Participate in training for Professional Development.
• Meet performance expectations with minimal supervision.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Be able to travel when required, with access to a vehicle and valid driver's license.
