Job summary

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority is seeking a Sign Fabricator to manufacture and install signage across WMATA's Rail and Bus systems. You will create signs from approved specifications and operate vinyl plotters, large format printers, engraving equipment, and related software.

This role requires at least two years in sign fabrication, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years’ experience as a Sign Fabricator or related field.
• Valid motor vehicle operator's permit.
• RWP Certification, level 2, within one year of hire and maintained for duration of time in job.

Responsibilities

• Creates/Fabricates signage from scratch using approved sign specifications, shop drawings or other descriptions of signs.
• Installs signs throughout WMATA Rail and Bus systems.
• Uses vinyl plotters, large format digital printers, engraving/routing machines and vector-based design software and equipment.
• Performs documentation of installations and maintenance and prepares requisitions for parts and materials.
• Maintains safety by attending required training and following WMATA standards.
