Job summary

Burkert USA Corp seeks a skilled CNC Programmer to join our Huntersville, NC team. You will program high-complexity parts using Siemens NX CAM for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines, and collaborate with manufacturing and design teams to ensure manufacturability and quality.

The role includes creating optimized tool paths, tool selection, and setup documentation, with an emphasis on reducing cycle times and downtime.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or certificate in Manufacturing Technology, CNC Programming or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience accepted.
• Minimum 5–7 years of CNC programming experience in Siemens NX in a production environment.
• Proven experience programming for complex multi-axis machining centers (3, 4, and 5-axis mills, mill-turns and lathes).
• Expert knowledge of GD&T, high precision tolerancing, and blueprint reading.
• Strong knowledge of material behaviors (aluminum, stainless steels, Inconel, and plastics) and machining best practices.
• Experience with post-processing and minor post-editing for Siemens NX output preferred.
• Proficiency in CAM simulation software (Vericut), machine verification, and collision avoidance techniques.

Responsibilities

• Program high-complexity parts in Siemens NX CAM, including 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining.
• Create optimized tool paths based on 3D CAD models and drawings.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, and strategies for efficiency and tight tolerances.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and design teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Set up simulation and verification to prevent errors before shop release.
• Optimize cycle times, tool life, and reduce downtime through program refinement.
• Develop setup sheets and documentation to support machine setup and first article success.
• Provide shop-floor support for first runs, debugging and in-process improvements.
• Participate in DFM reviews and suggest design changes to reduce costs.
• Maintain version control, archives, and backups for traceability.
