Job summary

Burkert USA Corp in Huntersville, NC is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to create high-complexity programs using Siemens NX CAM, covering 3-, 4-, and 5-axis simultaneous machining. You will select tooling, develop efficient tool paths, and work with design and manufacturing to ensure manufacturability and tight tolerances.

Responsibilities include validation with Vericut, setup sheets, process documentation, and first-run support on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years CNC programming experience in Siemens NX in a production environment.
• Proven experience programming for complex multi-axis machining centers (3, 4, and 5-axis mills, mill-turns and lathes).
• Expert knowledge of GD&T, high precision tolerancing, and blueprint reading.
• Strong knowledge of material behaviors and machining best practices.

Responsibilities

• Program high-complexity parts in Siemens NX CAM, including 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis simultaneous machining operations.
• Create optimized tool paths for precision components based on 3D CAD models and drawings.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, and strategies to maximize machining efficiency and meet tight tolerances.
• Work with manufacturing lead and design engineers to ensure manufacturability and process reliability.
• Set up simulation and verification to catch errors before shop floor release and document issues.
• Optimize cycle times, tool life, and reduce downtime through workflow refinement.
• Develop setup sheets, work instructions, and documentation for seamless machine setup.
• Provide shop floor support for first runs, debug programs, and adjust tool paths for improvements.
• Participate in DFM reviews and suggest design changes to reduce cost.
• Maintain version control, archives, and backup systems for traceability.
• Support CNC standardization, process improvement projects, and training of others.
