Job summary

Curry College is seeking a part-time Shuttle Van Driver to operate the 12-passenger campus shuttle between the Student Center and off-campus connections on a regular circuit. You will monitor ridership, log maintenance issues, and communicate with the Public Safety Office to ensure safe, comfortable transport for the campus community.

The role requires a high school diploma, an excellent driving record, and successful completion of background checks and Curry College Van Driver Training.

Qualifications

  • Observe safety regulations and report incidents promptly with passenger safety as priority.

Job description

This part‑time position drives the 12 passenger Campus Shuttle Van from the Student Center to off‑campus public transportation connections (Mattapan high‑speed Trolley, or other destinations as assigned) on a regular, continuous circuit. The driver assures passenger safety and comfort, monitors ridership and van maintenance, and maintains communication with the Public Safety Office.

Shuttle Van Driving
  • Drive the 12 passenger Campus Shuttle Van from the Student Center to off‑campus public transportation connections or other destinations as assigned, ensuring a continuous circuit throughout the shift.
  • Monitor ridership, keeping a log of passenger numbers.
  • Track and log any van maintenance issues.
  • Keep in contact with the Public Safety Office through Nextel.
  • Observe all safety regulations and report any incidents promptly, giving passenger safety highest priority.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Maintain good passenger relations, respond to questions, and report any passenger concerns to the Public Safety Officer.
Additional Functions
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or their designee.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Completion of a criminal background check, educational verification, and drug screen.
  • Completion of the Curry College Van Driver Training Program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a van driver.
Hourly Rate Range

$18.00 to $19.00 an hour

Part‑time (24 hours a week), 9‑month position.

Employment in this position is contingent upon the successful completion of all required pre‑employment background checks.
