Trinity College is seeking dependable and safety-minded individuals to join our transportation team as a Campus Shuttle Driver. This part-time role provides safe, reliable transportation for students and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.; hours may vary with campus needs and events. The anticipated base salary range is $16.94–$19.38 per year, with final placement based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License (Class D). If operating a 12-passenger van an F endorsement is needed.
• Clean driving record with no moving violations within the past three years.
• At least 3 years of licensed driving experience preferred.
• Familiarity with the Hartford area within approximately a 2–3 mile radius is required.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, service-oriented demeanor.
• Reliable attendance and ability to follow schedules and directions.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate campus shuttle vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic laws and college policies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Hartford area within a 2–3 mile radius to determine safe routes and assist with directions.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Ensure passengers follow safety protocols and seatbelt use.
• Maintain mileage logs and promptly report mechanical issues or incidents.
• Provide professional, courteous service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Schedule & Hours

• Monday - Friday: 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
• Hours: May vary based on campus needs, special events, and the academic calendar.
• Additional Hours: Occasional weekend or special-event hours may be available as needed.

The anticipated annual base salary hiring range for this position is $16.94 to $19.38 (midpoint) per year, with final placement determined by experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation: Operate College shuttle vehicles, including 7-passenger mini-vans and 12-passenger transit vans, safely and in compliance with traffic laws and College policies.

• Local Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge of the Hartford area within approximately a 2-3 mile radius to determine safe and efficient routes and assist with directions when needed.
• Vehicle Inspections: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking lights, tires, fluid levels, and overall vehicle condition.
• Passenger Safety: Ensure passengers follow safety protocols, including seatbelt use and vehicle capacity limits.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate mileage logs and promptly report mechanical issues, damage, or incidents to the appropriate supervisor and Campus Safety.
• Customer Service: Provide professional, courteous, and respectful service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.
