Job summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking a Shuttle Bus Driver for the Denison, IA location. You will transport students to vocational sites, medical centers, and other activities, ensuring safe operation of vehicles and maintaining trip reports.

The role includes safety-sensitive responsibilities and requires pass of a drug screen and background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months work-related experience preferred.
• Valid State driver’s license and an acceptable driving record required.
• CDL with passenger endorsement preferred in state of employment with acceptable driving record.
• Must pass a drug screen per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation services to students using vans, shuttle bus, and cars to various sites.
• Inspect and report on the mechanical condition of vehicles.
• Maintain accurate trip reports for each vehicle use.
• Perform alarm and patrol duties when not driving to protect life and property.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Position

Hourly Rate: $17.50 - $19.50

Duties and Responsibilities

• The Shuttle Bus Driver responsible for supplying transportation services to students and performing general maintenance duties throughout the center.
• The Shuttle Bus Driver transports students by van, shuttle bus and automobile to various vocational sites, medical centers, recreational activities, courts, etc.
• Inspects and reports on the mechanical condition of vehicles.
• Maintains accurate and complete trip reports of each use of any vehicle.
• When not performing the duties of the Shuttle Bus Driver will perform alarm and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, vandalism, fire, flood, or similar disaster, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months work-related experience preferred.
• Valid State driver’s license and an acceptable driving record required.
• Preferred Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
