Job summary

Nucor River Metals Recycling in Ohio is seeking a Shredder Maintenance Supervisor for the 2nd shift to lead the shredding team, oversee shredder maintenance, mobile equipment, and downstream processing equipment, ensuring safe, efficient operation. You will coordinate with day shift, scheduling, parts ordering, maintenance needs, and drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

This role requires strong leadership, technical maintenance skills, and a commitment to Nucor’s safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in business/management/engineering or related field or a minimum of 3 years of management experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing environment
• Experience in operations/manufacturing with heavy equipment and in scrap metal environments
• Maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment and strong safety focus

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in plant safety and operations on a day-to-day basis.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers.
• Establish production work schedules.
• Provide leadership in people development activities such as hiring, training, developing and coaching staff.
• Serve as a role model; ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.
• Support manager in long-range planning and budgeting.
• Conduct monthly inventory.
• Hands-on leadership with teammates.
