Job summary

Cape Electrical Supply in Missouri is seeking a Warehouse Associate/Furniture & Lighting Delivery Driver for our Southfork Showroom. You will transport furniture and lighting to customers, uncrate items, and place them in homes or showrooms.

You will also hang and move lighting fixtures and furniture within the showroom. Typical responsibilities include safe driving, verifying loads, recording deliveries, maintaining driver logs, and assisting with Material Handler duties when not delivering.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience driving a delivery vehicle preferred.
• Ability to lift and move furniture and fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver furniture/lighting to customers and uncrate/install in homes or showroom.
• Hang/move lighting and furniture in showroom and customer locations.
• Scan deliveries into the system and maintain driver logs.
• Promote good customer relations and relay feedback to management.
• Follow safety procedures and complete DOT medical exam/background checks as required.

Overview

• The location will be at our Southfork Showroom, performing Warehouse Associate/Furniture & Lighting Delivery Driver responsibilities.
• Transport furniture/lighting to customers; uncrating furniture and placing in customers home.
• Hang/move lighting in the showroom, as well as furniture.

Typical Functions

• Safely drive truck or van to transport materials within specified area; verify loads against shipping papers; obtain signed receipts for material delivered.
• Scan each delivery into system before leaving the warehouse; maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Determine best route for effective delivery of product that will satisfy customers' expectations of a timely delivery; record delivery information; inspect truck equipment and supplies as required, and immediately report any deficiencies to ensure safe operation.
• Perform any and all physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouse and showroom, as well as load and unload trucks.
• Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment and any material(s) contained thereon in the manner consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and the manufacturers’ instructions; follow all Company safety procedures.
• May perform Material Handler responsibilities when not engaged in primary responsibilities.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations; may promote new sales as opportunities arise.
• Take an active role in communicating customer feedback to Company management, including customer complaints, requests, returns, performance, competitive information, and potential opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

Work Shift and Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Compensation Details: The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $17.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on experience.

Additional Information

• CDL not required, but must pass DOT medical exam, drug test, and background check.
