Job summary

Cape Electrical Supply in Cape Girardeau, MO is hiring for a Warehouse Associate / Furniture & Lighting Delivery Driver. You will transport furniture and lighting to customers, uncrate and place items in homes, and arrange showroom displays.

Typical duties include safe driving, routing, paperwork, lifting, and operating warehouse equipment. Shift is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm; pay starts at $17.00–$19.00 per hour DOE; CDL not required but you must pass a DOT exam, drug test, and background

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a truck or van to transport materials within a specified area, verify loads against shipping papers, and obtain signed receipts for delivered materials.
• Scan each delivery into the system before leaving the warehouse and maintain truck logs according to state and federal regulations.
• Determine the best route for timely delivery, record delivery information, inspect truck equipment and supplies, and report deficiencies for safe operation.
• Perform physical duties to lift and move inventory, including loading and unloading trucks.
• Operate warehouse equipment and follow all safety procedures.
• May perform Material Handler duties when not engaged in primary responsibilities.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations and identify opportunities for sales.
• Communicate customer feedback to management, including complaints and requests.

Overview:

• The location will be at our Southfork Showroom, performing Warehouse Associate/Furniture & Lighting Delivery Driver responsibilities.
• Transport furniture/lighting to customers; uncrating furniture and placing in customers home.
• Hang/move lighting in the showroom, as well as furniture.

Typical Functions:

• Safely drive truck or van to transport materials within specified area; verify loads against shipping papers; obtain signed receipts for material delivered.
• Scan each delivery into system before leaving the warehouse; maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Determine best route for effective delivery of product that will satisfy customers' expectations of a timely delivery; record delivery information; inspect truck equipment and supplies as required, and immediately report any deficiencies to ensure safe operation.
• Perform any and all physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouse and showroom, as well as load and unload trucks.
• Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment and any material(s) contained thereon in the manner consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and the manufacturers' instructions; follow all Company safety procedures.
• May perform Material Handler responsibilities when not engaged in primary responsibilities.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations; may promote new sales as opportunities arise.
• Take an active role in communicating customer feedback to Company management, including customer complaints, requests, returns, performance, competitive information, and potential opportunities.

Compensation Details:

The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $17.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on experience.

Additional Information:

• CDL not required, but must pass DOT medical exam, drug test, and background check.
