Job summary

Mindrift is conducting a research study on how people use their phones and digital tools, and how this varies across languages and cultures.

We’re seeking native German speakers in New York for a paid, 3-day in-person study in Midtown Manhattan. You’ll describe how you use your phone and apps, and complete a short habits questionnaire.

Compensation is $100 per hour, with a total cap of $2,400, and participation is voluntary with a consent form.

Qualifications

• Native German speaker who grew up in Germany.
• Uses German in daily life: texting, email, notes.
• Comfortable communicating in English.
• 18+ and currently living in NYC.
• Used a smartphone as main personal phone for 3+ years.
• Available for 3 consecutive days (Mon–Wed or Thu–Sat), starting October 16.

• A native German speaker who grew up in Germany.
• You use German in everyday life: texting friends, email, notes.
• You’ve used a smartphone as your main personal phone for 3+ years.
• Comfortable communicating in English.
• Available for 3 consecutive days (Mon–Wed or Thu–Sat), starting October 16 on Friday.
• Not currently employed by a tech or AI company.

Great fit for international students, people new to NYC, and anyone between jobs or with a flexible schedule.
