Job summary

Komatsu is recruiting a Welder for its Virginia, MN facility. The role involves fabricating, assembling, and repairing structural components for large mining equipment.

You will follow safety protocols, read blueprints, and weld using FCAW and other processes to assure quality and reliability. The position offers competitive hourly wages, a $2,000 sign-on incentive, comprehensive benefits, and Jackson 401K matching.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of continuous FCAW experience.
• Proficient in multiple welding processes and blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding code and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to strict safety protocols and wear proper PPE.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedure specifications to determine welding sequences and layouts.
• Prepare metal components by cutting, grinding, and shaping to precise measurements using thermal and mechanical tools.
• Perform welding processes such as FCAW and other methods to join structural steel or alloy parts in various positions.
• Inspect and test welds visually and via nondestructive testing to meet quality standards.
• Select appropriate metals/alloys for welding tasks and troubleshoot issues.
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and adjust parameters for different materials.
• Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other trades to ensure proper alignment and fitup.
• Maintain detailed records of welding activities and inspection results for project documentation.
