Qualifications

• 5+ years of shop welding experience.
• Strong MIG welding experience.
• Stick welding experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols and shop drawings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the shift.

Responsibilities

Shop Welder (MIG) – Structural Steel Fabrication
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Pay: $25.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Day Shift)

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Shop Welder for a structural steel fabrication client in Phoenix, AZ. We are looking for welders with extensive shop fabrication experience who can work independently, read blueprints, and produce high-quality welds in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on structural and carbon steel components.

• Perform Stick welding as needed.

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.

• Fit, fabricate, and assemble structural steel components.

• Measure, cut, grind, and prepare materials for fabrication.

• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality standards are met.

• Operate fabrication equipment, hand tools, grinders, plasma cutters, and power tools safely.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of shop welding experience required.

• Experience welding carbon steel.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and shop drawings.

• Experience with fit-up and fabrication.

• Experience using .045 wire preferred.

• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for the duration of the shift.

• Stable work history with strong attention to detail.

• Must successfully pass a hands-on weld test.

• Background check and drug screen required.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS D1.1 Certification

• 3G/4G/6G welding certifications

• Forklift or overhead crane experience

• Experience in heavy manufacturing or structural steel fabrication
