Job summary

Lonestar Forklift is seeking a mechanically inclined Shop Technician (Forklift Mechanic) to join our Garland, Texas team. You will perform heavy equipment repairs, diagnose issues, and provide repair options to customers on site.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience, hydraulics knowledge, and a valid driver’s license. Competitive pay and benefits are included for onsite roles.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience (forklift experience strongly preferred).
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing/servicing electric engines is a strong asset.
• Aerial platform and lift truck experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance on material handling equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and complete repairs, offering options to meet customer needs.
• Track parts for service jobs and complete work orders.
• Communicate with Shop Coordinator, Shop Lead, Service Manager, and Technical Support Center.
• Identify maintenance and repair opportunities following warranty processes.

The Opportunity

Lonestar Forklift is looking for a mechanically inclined Shop Technician (Forklift Mechanic) to join our team in Garland, Texas. As the Shop Technician, you will be responsible for completing a variety of heavy equipment repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

As the Shop Technician your key responsibilities will include:

• Performing mechanical maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
• Diagnosing and completing equipment repairs in a timely manner, providing a variety of repair options that best meet customer needs
• Tracking parts for ongoing service jobs
• Completing work order forms
• Communicating with the Shop Coordinator, Shop Lead, Service Manager, and Technical Support Center regarding service jobs and repair needs
• Proactively identifying maintenance and repair opportunities for equipmentFollowing established warranty processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

• At least 3-5 years of heavy equipment repair experience in a related industry; forklift experience strongly preferred
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset
• Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• High school diploma
• Valid driver’s license

The base pay range for this role is: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Garland, Texas.
