Lonestar Forklift is seeking a Shop Technician (Forklift Mechanic) in Garland, Texas, to perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of material handling equipment. You will diagnose issues, track parts, and complete work orders to ensure high-quality service for customers.

The role requires 3–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience, forklift familiarity, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

Lonestar Forklift is looking for a mechanically inclined Shop Technician (Forklift Mechanic) to join our team in Garland, Texas. As the Shop Technician, you will be responsible for completing a variety of heavy equipment repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

As the Shop Technician your key responsibilities will include:

• Performing mechanical maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
• Diagnosing and completing equipment repairs in a timely manner, providing a variety of repair options that best meet customer needs
• Tracking parts for ongoing service jobs
• Completing work order forms
• Communicating with the Shop Coordinator, Shop Lead, Service Manager, and Technical Support Center regarding service jobs and repair needs
• Proactively identifying maintenance and repair opportunities for equipment
• Following established warranty processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

• At least 3-5 years of heavy equipment repair experience in a related industry; forklift experience strongly preferred
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset
• Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• High school diploma
• Valid driver’s license

The base pay range for this role is: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience.
