Job summary

Lonestar Forklift is seeking a Field Technician (Forklift/Heavy Equipment Mechanic) to join the Service team in Odessa, Texas. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of material handling equipment at customer sites, reporting to the Service Manager.

Required are 5+ years of related repair experience, hydraulics knowledge, and a valid driver’s license. Onsite role with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits; travel to customer sites in the region will be needed.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience.
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing/servicing electric engines is a strong asset.
• Trade Certification is an asset.
• Travel to customer sites in the region required; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on material handling equipment.
• Maintain communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing jobs and complete tasks timely.
• Discuss service details with customers and confirm repair scope and requirements.
• Coordinate with Parts to order required parts and prepare them before visits.
• Maintain proper paperwork including work orders and warranty documents.
• Report safety incidents and follow all safety policies.

The Opportunity

Lonestar Forklift is looking for a mechanically inclined Field Technician (Heavy Equipment Mechanic) to join our Service team in Odessa, Texas. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

As a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
• Maintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Discussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirements
• Communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sites
• Maintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperwork
• Reporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policies

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

• At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset
• Relevant Trade Certification is an asset
• Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• High school diploma
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required

This is an onsite role based in Odessa, Texas.

The base pay range for this role is: $41.00 to $48.00 per hour, depending on experience.
