Job summary

EquipmentShare is hiring a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) at our Laredo facility. You will perform maintenance and repair on rental equipment, read schematics, and utilize digital work orders to keep fleet in optimal condition.

This on-site role offers Monday–Friday hours with possible overtime and on-call compensation. OSHA awareness and safe work practices are essential to maintain high standards across the fleet.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; trade school certificate preferred.
  • Experience in field service, maintenance and repair is desirable.
  • Must own set of tools applicable to the position.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read schematics/diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair a range of heavy equipment and aerial lifts.
  • Use tablets/computers to manage work orders and service intervals.
  • Keep accurate documentation of work performed and parts used.
  • Assist in training of junior technicians as needed.

(This role is subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation provided)Primary ResponsibilitiesAs a Shop Technician, you’ll use our tech to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track machine service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues faster by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models. With real-time information at your fingertips, you can determine the root cause and corrective action for each issue quickly, enabling you to work smarter, not harder.Practice safe job practices for repairing equipmentUse technology (laptops and tablets) comfortablyMaintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgmentAssist in the training of lower level technicians as neededMaintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basisAssist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & partsBe knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred)Year-round company provided OEM trainingOther duties, assigned as neededWhy EquipmentShare?Because we do things differently — and we think you’ll feel it from day one.
