Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies, a global industrial distributor, is seeking a Rubber Shop Manager in Fontana, CA. This role oversees the distribution center shop network, directs shop floor personnel and customer service, and manages budgets to meet P&L targets.

You will lead a team of shop leaders, technicians, and support staff, driving Lean initiatives, efficiency gains, and quality improvements across the shop network while ensuring safe, compliant operations at the on-site facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; four-year degree in business management or supply chain preferred.
• 8–10 years of experience in a shop environment.
• Prior experience leading and managing a team.
• Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Lean background preferred.
• SAP experience preferred.
• This position is on site and not eligible for relocation benefits.
• Authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for the Distribution Center Shop Network, including Shop Team Leaders and Mechanics (17 direct reports).
• Develops and monitors reporting to improve performance, KPIs, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and cost.
• Manages time cards, vacations, performance goals, and training.
• Develops budgets and operational strategies for the Shop Network with focus on service, productivity, and costs.
• Aligns actions with customer voice and total cost of production/fulfillment.
• Drives cost savings and process improvements with cross-functional collaboration.
• Enforces policies and ethics; promotes accountability and teamwork.
• Maintains Lean fundamentals and conducts process audits to ensure standards.
