Job summary

CRH Alabama, a CRH company, is seeking a maintenance technician to operate and inspect equipment, diagnose defects, and perform repairs on site in Alabama. The role involves dismantling devices, welding, lubrication, and ensuring parts meet dimensional standards.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, reading comprehension, and the physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short memos.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Physically capable to lift 10–50 lbs and handle repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects.
• Dismantle devices to access and replace defective parts.
• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and wear.
• Repair or replace defective parts and weld when needed.
• Lubricate and test devices to ensure proper operation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists and handtools.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Welds broken parts and structural members.
