Job summary

CRH Americas is seeking a skilled equipment mechanic to repair and maintain road construction machinery in Alabama. You will inspect equipment, diagnose defects, and perform repairs on trucks, paving machines, batch plants, bulldozers, and related tools to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to read instructions, and basic arithmetic for measurements. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs and frequent manual handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Welds broken parts and structural members.

This is a skilled position involving making repairs to and maintaining road construction equipment and mechanical equipment such as trucks, trailers, batch plants, paving machines, bulldozers, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, asphalt paving and other equipment by performing the following duties
