APAC Alabama, Inc., part of CRH’s South Division, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Oxford, AL. The role focuses on repairing and maintaining road construction equipment including trucks, paving machines, bulldozers, and related machinery.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on mechanical skills, welding ability, and the stamina to work with heavy equipment daily in a field setting. Safety compliance and teamwork are emphasized within an inclusive environment.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Basic math skills for measurements, fractions and decimals.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and operate heavy equipment safely.

Responsabilités

This is a skilled position involving making r epairs toand maintaining road construction equipment and mechanical equipment such as trucks, trailers, batch plants, paving machines, bulldozers, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, asphalt paving and other equipment by performing the following duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspectes used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Welds broken parts and structural members.
