Qualifications

• Diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, electrical, hydraulic, brakes, HVAC and undercarriage knowledge.
• Ability to diagnose and repair common mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, drivetrain and engine problems.
• Ability to use diagnostic software and testing equipment and to read manufacturer service information.
• Familiarity with multiple vehicle types and heavy equipment.
• Ability to evaluate repair options with safety and operational needs in mind.
• Ability to perform oxy-acetylene torch work and basic welding (7018/6010).
• Clear communication of technical information to team and field staff.
• Ability to work independently and train others as needed.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.

Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose and repair a variety of company vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Perform advanced engine diagnostics and repairs.
• Diagnose drivetrain, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC issues and repair them.
• Use diagnostic systems and manufacturer information for repairs.
• Inspect and test completed work to confirm quality.
• Provide technical support to field personnel by phone or on-site.
• Maintain tools and work areas in a safe, organized condition.
• Train less-experienced technicians and assist with their development.
