Cogent in Riverside, MO seeks a Shop Manager to lead the shop team, ensuring safety, quality, and productive operations in an employee-owned company.

You will drive process improvements, oversee facility maintenance, and mentor mechanics while coordinating with stakeholders to meet costs, quality, and delivery objectives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Proven ability to lead a team of mechanics and willingness to work overtime on short notice.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a proactive, customer-focused attitude.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and adapting quickly to changing priorities.
• Basic proficiency with computer applications including Gmail, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Physical capability to lift and maneuver heavy objects, parts, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide technical, quality, and service leadership to the shop team.
• Train and ensure all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Mentor and motivate team in safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
• Coach and counsel employees regarding individual performance and development needs.
• Manage organization, safety, and maintenance of the shop facility.
• Guide service and repair processes including personnel requirements, material needs, facility needs, and tools and equipment.
• Ensure all established cost, quality, and delivery objectives and commitments are met.
• Establish quality control standards and obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products to be repaired.
• Take corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules.
• Review repair and operating reports and direct resolution of operational, repair, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
