Job summary

Metso is seeking a Shop Machinist for our 1st and 2nd shift Repair Center in Mesa, AZ. You will operate and maintain CNC and manual machines, perform repairs on mining machinery, and inspect parts to ensure they meet Metso specifications and quality standards.

You will read blueprints and specifications, select appropriate machining processes, and collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a machinist in heavy equipment, manufacturing, or mining.
• Ability to read and interpret precision plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CNC and manual machines, including lathes, mills, and other heavy equipment.
• Perform minor and major repairs on mining machinery at the Repair Center.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to complete machining and repair work accurately.
• Determine appropriate methods and processes for specialized and complex machining and repair jobs.
• Inspect and control quality using precise measurements with QA/QC personnel.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to support equipment reliability.
• Collaborate with the Repair Production Manager and Leads to track progress and communicate status.
